CHECK IN

We'll meet and greet in the Kalkara marina, situated on the other side of the Valletta Grand Harbour. Kalkara Marina is going to be the start and finish point of SailWeek Malta. Check in desk is open Saturday from 12 AM to 4 PM. We are sailing out Sunday morning so no need to be stressed if you have a late flight. In that case please contact us directly at info@sailweek.tours. Groceries for breakfast and a light lunch are going to be delivered straight to your yacht. If you wish to buy something extra there will be plenty of time for that.

DAY 1 - VALLETTA

At 6 PM we'll hop on a speed boat and cross the bay to Valletta's charming waterfront filled with cafeterias, restaurants, shops, bars & wine bars. Use your free time to explore the city of Valletta, Malta's UNESCO-listed capital city.Check out the city walls, Royal theater and St John's Co-Cathedral. Taste incredible food from some of Malta's best restaurants tucked between the bastion walls of Valletta. Visit Strait street, Malta's most famous and the most vibrant street hosting chic shops, bars, live music, and festivals.

DAY 2 - Marsaxlokk - Lido - Ghadira Bay

We'll depart Kalkara marina around 9 AM and start sailing towards Marsaxlokk, to the largest fishing village in Malta. This is a perfect place to see the Luzzu, a traditional Maltese colourful fishing boat and larger fishing vessels lined in the sheltered harbour. Get ready for some Insta time. Check out one of the several fish restaurants ready to turn their daily catch into a very delicious plate. After lunch we'll depart towards Armier bay. During our sail we'll have a swim stop before reaching little Armier Lidos for food where we'll have an afternoon chilling beach party. You can enjoy numerous watersports and beach games such as kayaking, jet skiing, banana rides, beach volleyball... SailWeek Malta prizes for the best teams. For those who would like something different there is an option of touring Mellieha Air Raid Shelter, one of the largest shelter complexes in Malta from WW2, dug entirely by hand and reaching a length of over 500 metres or visiting Mellieha, a large village, perched on a hilltop in northern Malta, which offers a very authentic and local feel with shops & restaurants. For the night boats are going to be buoyed in Ghadira bay.

ACTIVITIES: St Peters pool swimming, water sports, sea kayaking, beach volleyball, rent a jet ski, banana rides, WW 2 shelter tours. PARTIES: SailWeek Malta beach party

DAY 3 - Gozo island - San Lawrenz - La Grotta party

On our way to Gozo island we'll have our famous SailWeek regatta. After passing San Lawrenz we'll stop for some breathtaking views of the Maltese cliffs exactly next to the remains of the Dwejra Window landmark. This site is also famous for having featured in several Game of Thrones scenes during the series first season. After that check out The Inland Sea, an inland lagoon in Dwejra, perhaps the archipelago's most spectacular natural landmark. The shallow inland lagoon is linked to the sea with a 100 metre cave in the cliff. For the night we'll anchor in Xlendi bay before we head out to La Grotta Cave Party in the evening.

ACTIVITIES: SailWeek Malta regatta, Walk the Dwerja cliffs, Inland sea sightseeing. PARTIES: La Grotta Cave Party.

DAY 4 - Gozo marina

After Xlendi we'll set sails to Gozo Marina at Mgarr Harbour. This is a perfect day to do some extra activities. Rent a jeep, quad-bikes, scooters, buggies and tour the island with your crew. Check the most amazing beaches such as Ramla Hamra, Marsalforn or Qbajjar beach. If you want something more secluded we recommend Wied il Ghasri, and for the brave Hondoq ir Rummien where you can do your Maltese cliff jumping. For the ones who want to try something different we recommend horse riding or check out one of the several wineries in Gozo and do some wine tasting. For the night prepare yourself for SailWeek Malta night party.

DAY 5 - Comino - Blue Lagoon - Cafe del Mar

Get up sunshine, it's time for the Blue lagoon. We'll have the perfect start of the day by swimming in a small bay with shallow, azure-coloured water, found on the west side of Comino. This is also one of the most instagrammable places in Malta and a must see attraction. After lunch we set sail towards Bugibba and the world famous Cafe del Mar where we'll have our SailWeek Malta party. Enjoy cocktails with unbeatable views of the Mediterranean Sea and St Paul's islands over its infinity pool and wait for the most spectacular sunset. For the night we'll be buoyed in Bugibba where you can enjoy plenty of bars, restaurants & and clubs.

DAY 6 - Spinola bay - Paceville

We'll depart around 11 AM towards St Julians and Spinola bay. Spinola bay and it's streets and waterfront are most famous for dozens of clubs and bars. Enjoy lunch on board and use your free time to do some sightseeing. Enjoy extra activities before getting ready for the night party. Spinola bay is the heart of Malta's nightlife. For the night we'll be anchored in Spinola bay.

DAY 7 - SailWeek Malta Raft Party - Kalkara - Gianpula

Today we'll have a SailWeek regatta to Kalkara marina but before reaching our final destination we'll have our SailWeek Malta circle raft party. After docking in Kalkara, get ready for the final SailWeek Malta closing party that is going to be held in Gianpula Clubbing Village. Friday night accommodation is on your yacht in Kalkara marina free of charge.

No matter what accommodation option you book (full yacht/spots) all boats travel together and for that week are the part of the SailWeek flotilla.

  • FLY TO MALTA: LUQA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (MLA)

    The airport in Luqa is the only airport in Malta. From there you can make your way to Kalkara Marina where we start our SailWeek Malta.

    KALKARA MARINA:

    Marina is located North East from Luqa Airport. It is served by a dense transportation network of Buses and Taxis.

    TAXI:

    When you exit Luqa airport there are a numerous number of white taxis. One way price from the Airport to the Kalkara Marina is around 30 € and fits 4 persons. The journey takes around 25 minutes.

    E-CABS/BOLT:

    These cars fit 1-4 persons and approximately cost around 20-25 € from the Airport to the Kalkara Marina. Download their respective apps.

    PUBLIC TRANSPORT / BUS:

    Buses depart every 30 minutes from the airport bus stop. Take the X3 bus to Paola where you can then switch to the X2 to Fortini. Please check the timetable here.
    There is a 15 minute leisurely walk from the Fortini bus stop to the Marina. The whole journey takes around 50 minutes and costs 2 € per person.

    • If you're traveling to Malta a passport that is valid for at least 90 days is required. Those traveling from certain countries may require a visa. We recommend using VisaHQ to find out if you require any visas to enter the country - www.visahq.co.uk
    • We'll meet and greet in the Kalkara marina, situated on the other side of the Valletta Grand Harbour. Kalkara Marina is going to be the start and finish point of SailWeek Malta.

    • You are required to keep the yacht tidy and clean the dishes.
    • If you run out of food you may bring your own food and drinks on board any time at no additional charge. There are local shops and supermarkets at most shore stops to re-supply if needed.
    • On your yacht full bedding will be provided so you do not need to bring a sleeping bag.
       
    • We recommend soft bags, suitcases or frameless backpacks, plus a small day pack or carry bag. No external framed bags please, as they can damage or mark the walls of the yacht/cabin. Please limit your luggage to a maximum of 20kg.
       
    • Please note that due to space and weight restrictions on our yachts, passengers with too much luggage on departure may be told that they cannot take their entire luggage with them. SailWeek will provide secure luggage storage during the trip for all large framed suitcases or any other piece of luggage for a week rate of 15€ per piece).
